I have to report that I didn’t last past day two of the Detox fasting. I went home Friday night, feeling disoriented, dizzy and achy all over — but not hungry. I was in a foul mood; I had been stuck in a very long meeting in the late afternoon on a Friday, not the best time to pay attention (even when eating normally). I could hardly put a sentence together. I just wanted to lay on the couch and veg, and all I could think about was caesar salad — and Saturday … when we had decided to eat real food again.
I told my honey that I really needed to eat. “Well go ahead and eat,” he said. “I don’t want you to think less of me if I do,” I said. “What you really want,” he said, “is for me to eat with you, don’t you?” I smiled. He was right. I made us both fresh caesar salads with a good mix of organic greens and spinach, and buttered up two slices of organic whole wheat bread. As soon as my lips hit the bread I felt better.
I don’t know if it was such a great experience for me, to be quite honest. I am not a faster.
If — that is a BIG if — we ever do it again, it will be when I don’t have to go into work. In fact, I would definitely be open to the option of trying it at a wellness/spa retreat sometime, as long as it goes along with body treatments and wraps.
